Fox Theatre opens new Arcade Lounge
The Fox Theatre has opened its new Arcade Lounge, converting a previously semi-covered terrace into a climate-controlled, year-round space within the theatre’s Marquee Club.
The lounge is the latest addition to the Fox Theatre’s guest amenities, which have evolved since the Marquee Club opened in 2018. The club’s third level originally featured three areas: the indoor Conservatory bar, an open-air rooftop overlooking Peachtree Street and the semi-covered Arcade Terrace above the theatre’s historic Arcade entrance.
Atlanta-based architectural firm Lord Aeck Sargent, which also designed the Marquee Club and other Fox Theatre improvements, designed the renovation to integrate the enclosed space with the existing structure.
Rachel Bomeli, chief operating officer of the Fox Theatre, said the lounge reflects the theatre’s ongoing investment in its guest experience.

Shea Couleé joins 2026 Atlanta Pride lineup
Drag performer, actor and recording artist Shea Couleé will join the entertainment lineup for the 2026 Atlanta Pride Festival, taking the stage Oct. 10-11 at Piedmont Park.
Couleé joins previously announced headliner JT and performers Cain Culto and Zee Machine. Additional artists and programming will be announced ahead of the festival.
Couleé won Season 5 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” and has since worked across television, music, fashion and live performance. They played SLUG in Marvel Studios’ “Ironheart,” becoming the first drag artist and one of the first nonbinary actors to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As a recording artist, Couleé’s debut album, “8,” reached No. 1 on the iTunes Dance Music Chart. They have also headlined international tours and performed as part of Trixie Mattel’s Solid Pink Disco Tour.

DeKalb commissioner to host play and community conversation on American Dream
DeKalb County Commissioner Ted Terry and Out of Hand Theater will host a free performance and guided conversation exploring the meaning of the American Dream on Aug. 20 in Atlanta.
The event, “We Hold These Truths,” will feature a performance of “Tell Them About the Dream,” a play by Atlanta playwright Dana Stringer. The work examines dreams, imagination and community through the perspective of a Black Southern pastor.
Actor and musician Eugene H. Russell IV will perform the piece, followed by a guided conversation facilitated by Niya Randall. Organizers are inviting attendees to share their own experiences, hopes and ideas for the country’s future as part of an effort to encourage dialogue and build connections across communities.
The event is part of a play and conversation series presented by Out of Hand Theater and Terry that uses theater as a starting point for discussions about issues affecting communities.
“We Hold These Truths” will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at Callanwolde, formerly Metro City Church, at 999 Briarcliff Road NE in Atlanta.

Furkids to host annual charity golf tournament in September
Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters will host its annual Swing Fore Strays Charity Golf Tournament Sept. 15 at Atlanta National Golf Club in Milton, with proceeds supporting the nonprofit’s animal rescue, medical care and adoption programs.
The tournament will bring together golfers, businesses and community supporters for a day of competition and fundraising. Participants can register as individual golfers or as foursomes and will have access to breakfast, lunch and refreshments, along with on-course games, contests, raffles and prizes.
Registration is $1,200 per foursome, with individual golfers also welcome. Businesses and community organizations can participate through sponsorship opportunities, with proceeds benefiting Furkids’ efforts to rescue, rehabilitate and find homes for dogs and cats across Georgia.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start. The event will conclude with a 4 p.m. awards reception recognizing the tournament’s top teams.

Atlanta Land Trust names David Ogunsanya as executive director
The Atlanta Land Trust has named David Ogunsanya as its new executive director, bringing more than 15 years of affordable housing and community land trust experience to the nonprofit.
Ogunsanya will assume the position Sept. 8, succeeding Amanda Rhein. He most recently served as vice president of real estate at Elevation Community Land Trust in Colorado, where he oversaw a development pipeline of more than $100 million and helped deliver more than 580 affordable homes.
He previously served as director of housing for Athens Land Trust, leading housing and real estate operations and working with local governments, funders and community organizations on affordable homeownership initiatives.
Ogunsanya has worked on housing and real estate projects in Georgia, Washington, D.C., and Colorado. His appointment follows a national search conducted with BoardWalk Consulting.
As executive director, Ogunsanya will oversee ALT’s strategic, operational and fundraising efforts while working to expand permanently affordable homeownership opportunities across metro Atlanta. The organization uses the community land trust model to help preserve affordable housing for future homeowners.
